Presentation of WOF

DESIGN | FURNITURE | MALANG | 2025

Text provided by the studio. WOF and Keyreative have successfully executed a series of creative events, starting with Taku mini installations at Particular and Stoffel cafes. This Pre-Event aimed to provide direct information to the audience regarding the Main Event, which took place on July 5th and 6th. During this Pre-Event, WOF endeavored to deliver a brief message from Taku.

With WOF 2020-2025: ‘A Presentation of Stillness’ taking center stage throughout this event series, WOF took the bold step of presenting an inspiring Design Talk for the very first time. They also further developed the Taku installation, adding significant detail and depth of meaning.

The Design Talk featured Sayoganata, an architect from Ciri Diri, who emphasized the importance of authentic ideas in building design. Asterianne from Byast—Interior Design encouraged a broader perspective on the influence of emotions in spatial arrangement, highlighting how it often defies straightforward formulation. Bramantya Arief, a photographer, demonstrated how simple elements around us can be transformed into meaningful visual narratives. Ezza Putra Fahmi, Co-Founder of Stoffel, underscored that design must possess both aesthetics and a clear purpose. Finally, Binsar Priandika from WOF shared the story behind Sekitar Bench, a product inspired by the natural form and social function of shared spaces. This discussion encouraged the community to celebrate the diversity of ideas and the profound meaning of the creative process.

The event series will then conclude with interviews featuring presenters and visitors, discussing the event organized by WOF and Keyreative. This initiative aims to cultivate audience interest in WOF Wooden, reinforce its brand narrative, and serve as an organic promotional tool to reach a wider audience.

WOF remains true to its principles. While the furniture sector often undergoes continuous transformation, WOF has uniquely preserved its initial concept – its very ‘stillness’ – and in doing so, has only grown more refined and focused,” Sayoganata stated in the interview.

Meanwhile, Bramantya Arief expressed that he consistently welcomes events of this nature with enthusiasm, believing they serve as a valuable platform for practitioners to expand and solidify their connections. He hopes these initiatives will become a sustainable legacy.

Ezza Putra expressed his hope for the continuation of these types of events. ‘In fact, I’d love to see numerous series,’ Ezza commented. He believes these gatherings serve as an essential venue for those who benefit from opportunities to exchange both knowledge and experiences.

I feel the creative industry here is well-nurtured and has a warm atmosphere. Such events should definitely be held more frequently so we can gather and share our varied experiences more often. After all, our projects are diverse, and it’s at events like this that all those different insights can come together,” Asterianne commented when asked about the event organized by WOF.

On the other hand, Shelva expressed pride in the WOF team’s work, particularly acknowledging Malang’s talented designers. She hoped such events would be held more frequently and on a much larger scale. Vicky was also deeply impressed by Taku’s journey, which has accompanied WOF since its inception. Given its rich narrative, Taku certainly deserves a central role. Vicky added that she gained significant inspiration from the event. As she put it, ‘There are small things that sometimes can even become big stories.
